Wicked Belgian Waffles !!!

Amazing Belgian Waffles great for breakfast

Ingredients

50g caster sugar
1 1/2tsp baking powder
130g plain flour
1 egg (spilt into yolk and white)
150ml milk
75g butter (melted)
1/2tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Sunflower oil (Spray is easier)

Method

1. Put the plain flour, caster sugar, baking powder, egg yolk, milk, vanilla extract and the pinch of salt into a large bowl and mix with a hand whisk until smooth.
2. In a separate bowl whisk the egg white until peaks form.
3. Gently fold in the whisked egg white to the large bowl.
4. Preheat the waffle iron, spray sunflower oil onto the iron and spoon in a ladleful of the batter.
5. Once cooked put on a warm oven (for 10 minutes maximum) to dry/crisp slightly (turn 1/2 way through).

Suggestion

Serve with cream, berries (fresh or frozen) and honey/golden syrup.
